Privacy Notice, Event Participation

This notice describes how Pesco Innovation Hub ("we", "Controller") processes the personal data of those who take part in its events (for example the Startup Day), both as visitors and by applying with a stand. It is provided pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

1. Data controller

The data controller is Pesco Innovation Hub, based in Pescopagano (Basilicata). For any request about your data or to exercise your rights you can write to balestrieri@pescoinnovationhub.com.

2. What data we collect

a) Registration as a visitor

  • First name, last name and email, to manage the registration and the communications about the event.
  • Consent to photo and video recording (see point 3).

b) Photo and video recording during the event

Photos and videos are taken during the event. Being recorded happens only with prior consent, given at registration.

c) Application with a stand

  • Name of the organization (legal name), type of organization (startup, company, foundation, association, public body/institution, other) and incorporation status.
  • Contact person’s details: first and last name, email and, if provided, phone number.
  • Description of the activity and of what you intend to present.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) or any documents uploaded and, in the future, the Business Model Canvas of your organization.

d) Codes and QR codes

To verify attendance, benefits or accreditations, alphanumeric codes and QR codes linked to your registration may be generated.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Managing the registration and accreditation to the event, performance of pre-contractual measures and our legitimate organizational interest.
  • Assessment of stand applications and contact with the interested organizations, performance of pre-contractual measures at your request.
  • Use of photos and videos in the materials and promotional posts of the event and of Pesco Innovation Hub, on the basis of your consent.
  • Organizational, safety and legal obligations.

4. How we protect the data

CVs and uploaded documents are kept in a restricted area, not publicly accessible, and can be downloaded only by the organizing team and authorized staff. Data is processed with appropriate technical and organizational measures.

4-bis. Talks, recordings and materials (speeches and podcast)

If you request a speaking slot on stage (speech) or a podcast interview, your contribution may be audio/video recorded and later distributed (for example on the channels of Pesco Innovation Hub and of the linked organizations) on the basis of the explicit consent you give when making the request. Consent to the recording is optional and can be withdrawn at any time; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it, nor the distribution of content already published, whose removal you can in any case request.

The materials you upload to support your talk (for example the pitch deck) are kept in a restricted area that is not publicly accessible and can be seen only by the organizing team and authorized staff, for the sole purpose of assessing and organizing the talk. The questions of the podcast interview are shared with you in advance and participation is voluntary.

5. Recipients of the data

Data is processed by the organizing team of Pesco Innovation Hub and, for applications relating to specific organizations (ventures or partners), by the members of that organization’s team. We also rely on technical providers (e.g. hosting and email) acting as data processors. Data is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Retention

We keep the data for the time needed for the stated purposes and, as a rule, up to 24 months after the end of the event, save for legal obligations or the need to defend a right. Published photos and videos may stay online until you ask for their removal.

7. Your rights

At any time you can ask for access, rectification, erasure or restriction of your data, object to the processing, ask for portability and withdraw your consent (including the one on the use of images), without affecting the lawfulness of the previous processing. To exercise these rights write to balestrieri@pescoinnovationhub.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority.
