Privacy Notice

Last updated: 8 August 2026

This notice describes how Pesco Innovation Hub ("we", "Controller") processes the personal data of the users of the site pescoinnovationhub.com, pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the applicable Italian legislation.

1. Data controller

The data controller is Pesco Innovation Hub, Piazza della Vittoria 1, Pescopagano (PZ), Italy. For any request about your data you can write to balestrieri@pescoinnovationhub.com.

2. What data we process

a) Data you provide voluntarily

  • Registration and account: email, first name, last name, nickname and, if provided, profile picture. The password is stored in encrypted form (hash) and is not visible to us.
  • Member profile and directory: the information you choose to make visible in the community.
  • Expressions of interest (membership, partnership): email and details of the organization.
  • Published content: articles, venture profiles, images and materials you upload.
  • Applications to opportunities and positions: contact details, motivation and Curriculum Vitae (CV), if uploaded.
  • Member benefits: when redeemed, alphanumeric codes and QR codes linked to your profile are generated.
  • Event participation: handled according to the Event Privacy Notice.

b) Data collected automatically while browsing

For the operation, the security and the analysis of the site we automatically collect: IP address, approximate geolocation derived from the IP, browser and device type (user agent), pages visited, session duration and interactions with the content. This data is used in aggregate form to improve the site.

c) Data for security and abuse prevention

To protect the site we record the IP address of those who submit the public forms, we detect the use of temporary/disposable emails and we log suspicious login attempts and anomalous requests.

d) Your member profile, field by field

The profile is the most visible part of your account. Here is where each piece of information ends up, so that you can decide what to write.

DataWho sees it
First and last name Public: they appear on your profile, in the member directory, in the page title and in the previews shared on social networks. They can also be read from the public API of the site. Only the staff can change them, at your request.
Nickname Public, next to your name. You can change it whenever you want.
Profile picture Public on the profile and in the directory, and used as the preview image when your profile is shared. We keep the last 20 uploaded photos so that you can go back to a previous one: only you see them. The image file stays reachable by anyone who knows its direct address, even if you hide the profile.
Description (About you) Public. It is also the text that search engines and social networks show as the description of your profile: write it knowing that it will be read outside the site.
Skills Public on the profile. Other members can use them to look for you in the members-only directory.
External links Public on your profile. Only add addresses you want associated with your name.
Phone Never public. Only the organizers of the events you take part in can see it, to contact you during the day.
Public profile (switch) If you turn it off, your profile leaves the directory, the API and the public pages, and becomes reachable only by you and the staff. Your name as the author of any articles stays visible, and so does your photo file for anyone who has its direct address.

If you turn off the public profile or your membership card expires, the data is not deleted: it stays in your account, simply no longer visible to others. For actual deletion write to balestrieri@pescoinnovationhub.com.

5. Third-party providers and transfers

To provide the service we rely on providers acting as data processors: cloud hosting infrastructure, email services and artificial intelligence services used for functions such as automatic translation and content review. Some providers may process the data outside the European Union; in that case the transfer happens with adequate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses). Data is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Retention

We keep the data for the time needed for the stated purposes: account data as long as the account is active and for the period afterwards required by legal obligations; technical and browsing data for a limited period; application data for the time needed for the selection. You can ask for deletion at any time.

7. Data security

We adopt appropriate technical and organizational measures: encrypted connection (HTTPS), passwords stored as hashes, and storage of sensitive documents (such as CVs) in restricted areas accessible only to authorized personnel.

To do so write to balestrieri@pescoinnovationhub.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority.

9. Minors

The service is not intended for those under 16. We do not knowingly collect data of minors without the consent of whoever holds parental responsibility.

10. Changes

We may update this notice over time. The version in force is always published on this page, with its update date.
